What'd we do today?
Social Studies: 
---Learned about Buchanan and how the nation was divided during his presidency.
---We discussed some of the causes of the Civil War.
---Compared and Contrasted the Civil War with The Revolutionary War.
---Worked on OUR PRESIDENTS!! We've got the song DOWN PAT because we have to have #1-16 Memorized by Friday for the Quiz! Presidents Song!

Things We Thought Were AWESOME This Week!

Did you see these in your kiddo's backpack? (it might still be there!) If not, have no fear! This blog is to help link classroom-home.  One way I do that is by providing resources when responsibility just has a hangup and we still need information! ("Mama, I just forgot!)  The blog is also used in the classroom ALL THE TIME! It's a great way for the parents to be in the know and also what to expect on quizzes! (Those are every Friday!) I hope you find this tool useful and PLEASE COMMENT and FOLLOW BY EMAIL! :)  
 

annnnnndddddd this is what the Reading Log will look like for 5th grade! Remember NIGHTLY Reading of 30 minutes will help our kiddos EXCEL! Please read with and help them fill out this information! 
Things you should know:
- 30 minutes a night (including one on the weekend!) Required!
-3 Complete sentences for each question! (This is where I need you fo realz!)
-NIGHTLY Parent Signature! Required!
-Bring to school EVERYDAY for spot checks and feedback throughout the week!
-Worth 100pts & taken up on Mondays!
*Once graded, I'll send home the log with grade on it that will need to be signed. (I grade that signed paper too! 10 easy points! WOOP WOOP!) We are a team to help these kiddos gain some knowledge and I want you to always know what progress they are making!
